August

Ok, so I'm horrible at keeping two blogs going at the same time! It has been a very busy summer though. Dan spent 6 weeks insanely busy with grad school. I headed to Houston for 2.5 weeks of that to visit my parents. It was easy for me to visit with them and have help some of the time then stay here and take care of Becca 24/7 myself. We had a very good visit. I got to see Scott and Amanda's new house. It has a ton of potential but needs a lot of work. I got to see James and Dani plus a number of friends I haven't seen in years. Mom got to take Becca to church and show her off. She had a lot of fun. Someday she'll be about to sing with the choir again. Right now I think it will be at least October before she can.

Next week she is driving up from Texas AGAIN! A couple days after she gets here Amanda, Matt, and Dad fly in as well. They are all sailing to Martha's Vineyard in my dad's new sailboat. They are going straight there rather than hugging the coast. This means over 48 hours of straight sailing in shifts of 2. Dan and I would love to be joining them but I don't think Becca is ready for the high seas. Dan and I are driving up to join them for a few days. Dan has never been to Martha's Vineyard and a lot of the family there haven't met Becca.

After Mom gets back she is staying in Exton till sometime in October because her sister is having her knee replaced. My mom has to help her get around the house until she can do it herself and drive her to PT a couple times a week. It is the driving that will take the longest for her to be able to do again. From what I've heard though knee replacements have had a lot of advancements in the last decade. They are even preparing some of her own platelets into a gel to stuff into the incision so it heals faster. She will also have a stint giving her knee the pain killers directly! All very cool. She will have to have the other one replaced this spring. But hopefully having this one done will make things much better!

Becca is doing great, but check out details on that.
