Over due update

March 9th - 37 weeks

The nursery almost finished!

So a lot has happened since my last post in Jan. I've been completely horrible about posting at all. Sorry! I had my shower in late Jan. It was a lot of fun and a good friend from North Carolina was even able to make it. I got so much stuff that in the end I had to go through everything again the next day to even have a clue what I got.

In Feb. we finally did some of the things we've needed to do such as buy a carseat and take a childbirth class. But on a great many things we were still dragging out feet. Then my last visit in Feb. at 35.5 weeks the Midwife said that I was 1cm dialated and 50% effaced! AHHHH!!! It was the needed kick in the but to get a lot of things done. And make us realize that even though my due date was 5 weeks away we might not have that long.

So now two weeks later we have done all the important things. We even have a bag mostly packed to go to the hospital. At this point it is a waiting game but it is nice to not be quite so far behind the 8 ball.

My mom drove from Texas and arrived on the 6th. She is now living at Fairlee till at least after Easter (April 8th). She didn't want to be stuck in TX trying to get a flight with me in labor. My cousin had her shower last weekend and she was throwing it so it made sense to just drive up in time for that. I decided not to go as 3 hours in a car is not much fun at all now. Plus if something were to happened while in NJ I don't know what my insurance company would say about me being out-of-network. It worked out well though as I was pretty sick that day anyway. From what I hear it was a completely lovely shower.

My dad is flying up this weekend to get some work done on Fairlee and to see me. So barring other activity I will be on the Eastern Shore most of this weekend. I don't know how much work I'm going to be doing but I'll get to visit at least. The stairs are suppose to be finished being installed on Friday and the wall board go up in the "secret room" as well. There is still a lot of work to be done to have it all ready for renters the middle of April but it is at least coming along.

Some days I am very ready for to have this baby because I'm getting uncomfortable and other times I'd rather it hold off till I get more done. In the end I suppose it doesn't matter. It'll make it's appearance whenever it feels like it and I have no say. So I wait...
