The Questions

I decided to post an email Dan recieved today from a Vestry member. I think it demonstrates the mindset of some of the vestry. Would you be able to answer these questions?

Dear Dan:

Hope you are well and enjoying the wonderful weather. I want to be clear on your thoughts on some subjects we discussed so I will pose a couple of questions and ask you to write me your answers so if this comes up at Vestry, I have your words --- not mine, or my interpretation of your thoughts.

Are there any articles of the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds with which you are in anything but full personal and theological agreement? If so which and why?

If one of our youth, say 14 or 15 year old, asked what is meant by the phrase "the Gospel of Jesus Christ" what would you include in your answer?

In John 14:6 Jesus stated," I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (NIV) What is your understanding of this passage, and what does it say about Christianity's relationship with other world religions?

What is your explanation of the reason you were asked not to lead or be co leader at Vacation Bible School with the other churches?
