Its done
Bob just called. They didn't vote. 3 people didn't show up. Two 'no's and one yes. No one brought it up so no one voted. Hence the process is done. We can't do this again. We are going to look for place for us to both go to grad school next year. It'll be tough for us to both find programs that we like and still be able to live together. Not easy. So now I have to look into the GREs in ernst.
Is it childish to refuse to talk to the 'no' vestry members????

Not at all. They f#$&*$ deserve the silent treatment.
Wow.... what little faith I had left for organized religion is slowly slipping away. You guys deserve better treatment than this.
I am so sorry sweeite. I can't believe the ordeal they have put you through. Best of luck!
... It's amazing how something as beautiful as religion can turn too such an ugly affair.
Megan, I'm so sorry. This really really sucks. Hang in there.
Anonymous, organized religion is just a human institution like anything else. It's really no different than a family, a company, a university, a town... all have good and bad in them. God can be found in all of these places, and in many others. God and organized religion are not synonymous, but sometimes organized religion can be helpful on an individual's journey with God. Just like families, some churches are warm, loving, and empowering, and others are dysfunctional, abusive, and traumatizing to be a part of.

It's childish, yes. I don't blame you for wanting to never talk to them again, though. It's ridiculous to see what should be a miraculous and wonderful thing tarnished by human nature - all all done in the name of God (so they say).
