Good news and bad news

We got the apartment that we want. It is on the opposite end of the block than the Parrish house. The church is another block past that...it is in the center of Church Circle so it is on its own "block". It is a basement apartment of a 150 year old house. It has been really taken care of and has even had central air added. It is a 1 brd/1 bath so much smaller than what we've been living in. We are going to be storing a lot of our stuff at Fairlee. It will be certainly be an adventure in city living. We are glad to be on the ground floor with how much the dogs play we didn't want to live over anyone. Oh and one block in the other direction from church is a park on the water. :)

We are going to have to do an enormous amount of culling and packing the next two weeks. It is going to be a lot of work but I think we'll have time.

Tomorrow St. John's is going to find out that Dan is leaving. Some people already know, of course. Dan used some people as references and others he had to tell in planning meetings but it has successfully been kept hush hush. Dan had the Jr. Mission Trip Fri.-Mon. and VBS Wed.-Fri. So there was not going to be time this week to deal with telling people or answering questions. Bob is sending out an all Parrish email on Saturday. On Sunday July 23rd Dan is preaching a good-bye sermon. The he'll be gone on the Sr. Mission Trip the 30th - August 5th. He will be coming home to a bare house with trucks packed. I think we will be going to church the morning of the 6th for our last Sunday then going home and climbing in the U-haul on our new adventure.

So the bad news...the sale that we thought we had might have fallen through. We'll know by the end of the weekend. One our new CNM is interested though so might not be a problem. Otherwise we'll be calling a real estate agent on Monday. :(
